CSHORE
CSHORE is a one‑dimensional, depth‑averaged, process‑based coastal morphodynamic model that simulates cross‑shore wave transformation, wave–current interaction, sediment transport, and beach profile evolution under the assumption of longshore uniformity.

Why it matters?
CSHORE exists to answer a deceptively simple question: how will the beach profile change when waves, water levels, and storms interact with sediment in the nearshore? It tackles this by simulating the coupled physics of wave transformation, wave‑induced currents, and sediment transport — including bedload, suspended load, and breaking‑wave processes — to predict how beaches, dunes, and nearshore profiles evolve during everyday conditions and extreme events. This makes CSHORE especially valuable for storm‑impact assessments, erosion forecasting, and the design or evaluation of coastal interventions. The model is actively used and maintained by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), research groups, and coastal practitioners who need a transparent, process‑based tool for defensible coastal change predictions. Its continued development, including new sediment transport algorithms for breaking‑wave environments, reflects a long‑standing commitment to physically grounded modelling that supports real‑world coastal decision‑making
